State Rep. Michael Madigan (D-IL): accused of bribery scheme

FYI: Mikey is another in a long list of loser attorneys that decided to go into politics after learning how difficult it was to earn a dishonest living practicing law after he graduated from Loyola University School of Law. Therefore, he decided to go into the second most ethical profession (used car salesman No. 1), politics.

It should be noted that Mikey has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the past forty-nine (49) years. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater Chicago area was about to offer him a good paying job.

It is alleged that Mikey has engaged in the following misconduct.

  • Involved in a years-long bribery scheme involving Commonwealth Edison (ComEd)
  • ComEd “admitted it arranged jobs, vendor subcontracts, and monetary payments associated with those jobs and subcontracts, for various associates of a high-level elected official” in order to advance legislation that would bring the company monetary benefits that “exceeded $150 million.”
  • The ComEd arranged jobs took place “even in instances where these political allies and workers did little to no work that they were reportedly hired to perform.”

All that remains now is to see how long it takes for Mikey to cop a plea in order to limit the amount of time he’ll be spending at the Leavenworth Penitentiary in Leavenworth, Kansas.

As we speak (ca. August 2020), Mikey continues to sit as the Speaker of the House of Representatives in Springfield, Illinois.
