Barrister Dominic Brazil of England; ethical goblin

The Law Society presented Dominic Thomas George Brazil with a Barristers license in 1993 after he graduated from the University of Bristol School of Law.

The Bar Standards Board found Dom guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act with honesty and integrity
  • Deliberately deleted emails between himself and a physician that evidenced several payments totaling £16,500 ($21,380.00) from the physician into Dom’s private bank account
  • Falsely claimed that he had acted for the physician on a pro bono [free] basis
  • Undertook the general conduct of a lay clients’ affairs without being instructed by a solicitor to so act

Behaved in a way which was likely to diminish the trust and confidence which the public places in him or in the profession

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Barrister Misfits sitting on the Bar Standards Board punished Dom by gifting him with a complimentary 14-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. August 2020), Dom practices with KBW Chambers at 1 King’s Bench Walk in London, United Kingdom.
