Attorney Karolyne N. Armer of Penfield, NY; serial tax scofflaw

 
The state of New York provided Karolyne N. Armer with a law license in 1975 after she graduated from Albany Law School.
 
In late 2011, the Disciplinary Committee for the 4th Judicial Department in Rochester found Karolyn guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Neglecting client matters
  2. Failed to respond to client inquiries
  3. Failed to timely return unearned fees to client
  4. Failed to appear at an arbitration hearing on behalf of a client
  5. Refusing to cooperate with disciplinary investigators
  6. Failed to provide required itemized statements of her claimed fees to clients
  7. May 2010 criminal conviction for failure to pay New York State personal income tax for 2007
  8. Failed to pay New York State personal income taxes for years 2001 through 2006
  9. Failed to file and pay federal income taxes for years 2001 through 2007
  10. Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on her fitness to practice law
  11. Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  12. Engaged in conduct that adversely reflected on her honesty and trustworthiness
As a consequence of her egregious misconduct, the unapologetic defenders of Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Committee for the 4th Judicial Department punished Karolyn by gifting her with a stayed one-year suspension of her law license. In truth, Karolyn received absolutely no punishment for her years-long misconduct.
 
This is yet another reason why most New Yorkers find the attorney and judicial discipline system to be an unmitigated joke!
 
As we speak (ca. April 2012) Karolyn practices law at 2132 Five Mile Line Road in Penfield, New York.
