Attorney Timothy Doty of Center Line, MI; cheating slacker
The state of Michigan provided Timothy Thomas Doty with a law license in 2011 after he graduated from the University of Detroit School of Law.
The Tri-County Hearing Panel #104 found Timmy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Timmy!)
-
Filed late objections to an order resulting from his non-appearance at motion hearing, resulting in an unfavorable order being entered against his client
-
Failed to submit additional responses to discovery requests, resulting in opposing counsel filing a motion to
-
compel and attorney fees imposed on his client
-
Failed to appear at final settlement hearings after mediation to finalize divorce order
-
In client criminal matter, failed to appear for client arraignment
-
Charged a clearly excessive fee (cheater)
-
Failed to appear at two court scheduled hearings on client’s behalf
-
Failed to appear at show cause hearing for failure to appear at scheduled court hearings
-
Found in civil contempt for failure to appear and fined $250
-
Failed to appear on contempt issue or pay the $250 fine
-
Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
-
Knowingly disobeyed an obligation under the rules of a tribunal
-
Failed to communicate the basis or rate of the fee to the client
-
Failed to explain a matter to a client to the extent reasonably necessary for a client to make informed decisions regarding the representation
-
Failed to keep client informed of status of matter
-
Failed to seek lawful objective of client through reasonably available means
-
Handled legal matters without preparation adequate in the circumstances
As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Michigan Supreme Court punished Timmy by gifting him with a complimentary 180-day suspension of his law license and assessed costs of $2,064.56.
As we speak (ca. July 2020), Timmy practices with The Law Offices of Timothy Doty at 25501 Van Dyke Avenue in Center Line, Michigan.
