Attorney Charles Gibson II of Dermott, AR; convicted tax cheat

The state of Arkansas presented Charles Sidney Gibson II with a law license in 1990 after he graduated from the University of Arkansas School of Law.

The Committee on Professional Conduct found Charlie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Pled guilty of failing to file tax returns for at least three years
  • Failure to pay taxes for three years led to loss of $344,162 to IRS
  • Sentenced to three years of probation, 200 hours of community services, and six months home detention with electronic monitoring
  • Ordered to pay restitution of $2344,162 to the IRS

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Committee on Professional Conduct punished Charlie by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. August 2020), Charlie practices in Dermott, Arkansas
