The state of New Jersey presented James Valvano II with a law license in 1996 after he graduated from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Jimmy guilty of the following misconduct.

• Engaged in the illegal practice of law while license suspended
• Committed a criminal act that reflects adversely on his honesty, trustworthiness, or fitness as a lawyer
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Carlos by gifting him with a complimentary censure.
