Attorney Juana Calvillo of Houston, TX; ethical goblin

The state of Texas presented Juana Maria Calvillo with a law license in 2009 after she graduated from Texas Southern University School of Law.

FYI: Texas Southern is ranked as the 168th best law school in the country out of 200 ABA (American Bar Association) accredited law schools.

An evidentiary panel of the District 4 Grievance Committee found Juana guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to keep client informed of status of matter
  • Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Juana!)
  • Neglected client legal matter
  • Ordered to pay $2,500 in restitution to her client

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Amy by gifting her with a complimentary 7-day suspension of her law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Texas Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Amy.

As we speak (ca. September 2020) Juana practices with Calvillo Law PLLC at 1914 North Memorial Way in Houston, Texas.
