Attorney Mark Brinton of Mesa, AZ; slacker, repeat offender

 

The state of Arizona presented Carlton Aki Stant with a law license in 1983 after he graduated from the University of San Diego School of Law.

 

The Arizona State Bar found Mark guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

 

Mark’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Knowingly made false statement to a tribunal
  • Failed to be truthful in statements made to others
  • Engaged in conduct involving a misrepresentation; and engaging in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice.
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Failed to maintain proper trust account records
  • Failed to maintain a client ledger
  • Failed to disburse funds from account with only pre-numbered checks
  • Failed to abide by his client’s decisions concerning the scope of the representation
  • Failed failing to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to adequately communicate with client

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Carl by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.

 

Mark’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Misconduct involved multiple offenses
  • Failed to contest amount of money the clients owed, and court consequently granted a partial summary judgment
  • Prior to submitting client’s affidavit to the court, Mark removed several paragraphs without the client’s knowledge or consent

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Carl by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

 

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Carl by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.  

 

As we speak (ca. July 2020) Mark practices with the Law Office of Mark f. Brinton at 1745 South Alma School Road in Mesa, Arizona.
