Attorney Leroy Equiano of Jamaica; ethical troll

The Jamaica Licensing Commission provided Leroy Kajo Equiano with a law license in 1994 after he graduated from the University of West Indies.

The Disciplinary Committee of the General Legal Counsel found Leroy guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to maintain honor and dignity of the profession
• Failed to abstain from behavior that lent discredit to the legal profession
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Withdrew client appeal without consent of the client
• Was negligent in the performance of his duties

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Committee punished Leroy by ordering that he pay a fine of $100,000.00 and assessed costs of $50,000.00.

As we speak (ca. June 2020), Leroy practices with the Kingston Legal Aid Clinic in Kingston, Jamaica.
