Attorney Midori Adachi of Manitoba, CAN; ethical goblin

The Law Society of Manitoba presented Midori Adachi with a law license in 2005 after she graduated from the University of Manitoba School of Law.

The Manitoba Law Society Disciplinary Counsel found Midori of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in a conflict of interest
  • Breached duty to act with integrity
  • Knowingly assisted or encouraged dishonesty
  • Pled guilty to 13 charges professional misconduct
  • In numerous commercial transactions involving a regular client or persons associated with said client, Midori allowed herself to be the dupe of the client and in the process, her conduct fell well below the standards expected of a lawyer
  • Acted for opposite parties in several matters while there was a conflict of interest
  • Preferred the interests of her regular client over others
  • Was not candid with some clients and in some cases actively misled them

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Counsel punished Midori by gifting her with a complimentary 10-month suspension of her law license and assessed costs of $35,000.00.

As we speak (ca. May 2021), Midori practices with the Midori Adachi Law Corporation in Association with Broadway Law Group at 260 St. Mary Avenue in in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
