Judge Lawrence Cho of Santa Monica, CA; incompetent boob

The state of California provided Lawrence Hsien-Chun Cho with a law license in 1989 after he graduated from Rutgers University School of Law.

FYI: Larry has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the past thirty (30) years. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater Los Angeles area was about to offer Larry a good paying job.

In one matter, Larry presided over an action for excessive force by a law enforcement office brought by limousine driver Aleksandr Kon. In his infinite ignorance, Larry dismissed the case by claiming it was barred because of the plaintiff’s conviction for disturbing the peace. Mr. Kon then appealed Larry’s asinine dismissal to the Court of Appeal. In reversing Larry the Dumbo, the court stated in part:

• “Kon’s conviction of disturbing the peace does not bar Kon’s suit for excessive force, because there is no inconsistency between the two cases.”
• “How you act and how police respond are two different issues.”
• “The criminal case was about the former. This civil case is about the latter.”
• “That is, fighting or challenging someone to fight does not entitle the other to respond with excessive force.”
• “Conversely, you can disturb the peace even though the police later beat you up.
• “Their bad response is not a defense to your bad act.”

It goes without saying that Larry the Boob doesn’t much give a damn when he’s overturned (rebuked in truth) by the appellate court since he is well aware that no California judge has ever been tossed off the bench for being an incompetent boob.

 As we speak (ca. June 2020), Larry the Dumbo continues to sit as a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge in Santa Monica, California.
