Solicitor Gerard Murphy of Wicklow, Ireland; ethical goblin

The Law Society of Ireland presented Bernard O’Bierne with a law license in 1994 after he graduated from Queen’s University School of Law.

The Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal found Bernie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to attend at the Compensation Fund Committee meeting despite being requested to do so and failed to explain his non-attendance at the meeting (Screw you, said Gerry!)
• Failed to apply for a yearly practising certificate in a timely manner
• Failed to file evidence of having professional indemnity insurance covererage in place in a timely manner or at all
• Failed to file an accountant’s yearly report in a timely manner or at all

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Solicitor Misfits sitting on the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal punished Bernie by gifting him with a complimentary admonishment and imposed a fine of €2,500.

As we speak (ca. June 2020), Bernie practices with as BJ O’Beirne and Co. Solicitors at Main Street, Arklow, Co. in Wicklow Ireland.
