Solicitor Bernard O’Beirne of Wicklow, Ireland; scamming fraudster

The Law Society of Ireland presented Bernard O’Bierne with a law license in 1994 after he graduated from Queen’s University School of Law.

The Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal found Bernie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Falsified his books of accounts
• Concealed the appropriation of fees in his books of account
• Did not raise VAT invoices in a number of cases
• Improperly with solicitor costs and client fees from the client account without delivering to the client a bill of costs or other written intimation of the amount of the costs incurred
• Improperly held monies to which he was beneficially entitled in a client account for longer than three months
• Withdrew monies from a client account other than by way of cheque drawn on the client account in favour of himself and other than by a transfer from the client to the office account
• Withdrew monies from a client account other than by way of cheque drawn on the client account in favour of himself and other than by a transfer from the client to the office account
• Payee details on certain cheques drawn on the client account were false
• Failedto maintain proper books of account showing true financial position in relation to Bernie’s transactions with clients’ monies
• Failed to distinguish separately between clients’ monies and other monies transacted by him
• Records of transactions with clients’ monies were recorded in fictitious clients’ ledgers
• Failed to maintain proper books of account to show all his dealings with client’s money received, held or paid by him

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Solicitor Misfits sitting on the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal punished Bernie by gifting him with a complimentary censure and imposed a fine of €15,000.

As we speak (ca. June 2020), Bernie practices with as BJ O’Beirne and Co. Solicitors at Main Street, Arklow, Co. in Wicklow Ireland.
