Attorney Diana Bronstein of Brooklyn, NY; ethical troll

The state of New York presented Diana Bronstein with a law license in 2006 after she graduated from the Thomas M. Cooley School of Law.

FYI: Cooley is ranked as the worst or one of the worst law schools in the country out of 202 ABA accredited schools. Proof of such a ranking is the fact that Donald Trump’s former attorney and fixer was none other than convicted felon Michael Cohen.

The Judicial Department Committee on Professional Standards found Diana guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in a pattern and practice of converting client funds entrusted to her as a fiduciary
  • Improperly used client funds from her escrow account to pay personal expenses
  • Engaged in conduct involving deceit, dishonesty, and misrepresentation
  • Failed to maintain the required bookkeeping records for her escrow account
  • Failed to maintain for her escrow account a contemporaneous ledger or similar record showing the date, source, and description of each item deposited, and the date, payee, and purpose of each withdrawal or disbursement
  • Failed to file a retaining or closing statement with the Office of Court Administration in connection with clients' personal injury matters involving contingency fees as required
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

Paid the following bills from her escrow account:

  • $76.71 to PayPal
  • $100.00 to Quill Corporation
  • $400.00 to Chase Card Services
  • $00.00 to Home Depot Credit Services
  • $154.80 to Cablevision

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the patrons for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Judicial Department Committee on Professional Standards punished Diana by gifting her with a complimentary 2-year suspension of her law license.

As we speak (ca. June 2020) Diana practices with International Real Property Group LLC at 185 Mackenzie Street in Brooklyn, New York.
