Judge John Throesch of Pocahontas, AR; ethical troll

The State of Arkansas presented John C. Throesch with a law license in 1985 after he graduated from the University of Arkansas School of Law.

The Arkansas Judicial Discipline and Disability Commission found Judge Throesch guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Offered to influence cases involving his wife and another woman
  • Began sending online messages to a female defendant in his courtroom in 2018 that soon progressed from “friendly to flirty”
  • Withdrew from case involving female defendant at which point his communications with her became sexual in nature
  • Offered to female defendant to help her with her criminal charges
  • Called may and police chief of Pocahontas seeking a "professional courtesy" after his wife received a traffic ticket
  • Conduct made Johnny "ineligible and unworthy of the robe"

Rather than await a ruling by the Arkansas Supreme Court that would likely have ordered his removal from the bench, Johnny did what any unethical coward would do, he resigned.

As we speak (ca. May 2020), it is rumored that Johnny has applied for a job as a greeter at the Walmart Supercenter Store at 1415 Highway 67 South in Pocahontas, Arkansas.
