Judge Mary Kovack of Medina, OH; pompous, lifetime porker

The state of Ohio presented Mary Rose Kovack with a law license in 1989 after she graduated from Case Western University of School of Law.

FYI: Mary has had her significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the past thirty-one (31) years. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater Medina County area was about to offer her a good paying job.

In one matter, Judge Kovack decided to thumb her nose at a directive put forth by the Chief Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court that all Ohio courts refrain conduct court hearings during the coronavirus pandemic with the exception of the most urgent of hearings.

During an interview with reporter Cory Shaffer of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Mary admitted that she ordered her three court magistrates to not grant any attorney requests to postpone scheduled trials and final hearings. She went on to tell her magistrates that she wanted to personally review each matter wherein an attorney requested a continuance based on the Coronavirus pandemic.

Mary’s display of utter contempt for the Chief Justice’s directive and to further establish her bona fides as a pompous Buffoon (my sincerest apologies to Buffoons), led to numerous unnecessary court hearing that needlessly risked the health of plaintiffs, defendants, attorneys, witnesses and courtroom staff.

Additionally, Mary’s contemptuous conduct gave the appearance that litigants who were scheduled for trial during the Coronavirus outbreak should settle their cases to avoid risking their health.

Due to Mary’s obnoxious behavior, Attorneys David McArtor and Adam Thurman sought relief from the Ohio Supreme Court by way of having the Court compel Mary to comply with Chief Justice Maureen O’Connor’s directives on cancelling hearings/trials. Immediately thereafter, the Supreme Court issued an order prohibiting Mary from conduct hearings involving McArtor and Thurman.

Hopefully, disciplinary action will be taken against Mary for her conduct in thumbing her nose at the chief judicial officer’s directives regarding how the court should operate to safeguard the health of all of its citizens.

As we speak (ca. May 2020), Mary continues to sit as a Medina County Common Pleas Court judge in the Domestic Relations Division in Medina, Ohio.
