Solicitor David Johnson of South Australia; ethical troll

The Law Society presented David Martin Johnson a law license in 1974 after he graduated from Dalhousie University School of Law.

The Queensland Civil and Administrative found Davey guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Unsatisfactory Professional Conduct
  • Withdrew costs from trust account without authority and refusal to repay the trust account
  • Failed to properly record instructions and to ensure that in circumstances where there were two files, two clients each of whom had an interest in the settlement sum
  • Failed to obtain and record the necessary instructions, execute the appropriate authorities and make the proper notations on trust account documents
  • Exhibited a somewhat laissez faire attitude to what were effectively his responsibilities to ensure that the settlement funds were dealt with appropriately
  • Engaged in a serious breach of the Acts and Regulations relating to use of trust monies
  • Appropriated money held in trust account without the authority of Jeeves Bistro a party who had an interest in that money
  • Derived personal or professional benefits from improper appropriation of trust funds

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Queensland Bar punished Davey by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand and imposed a fine of $5,000.00.

As we speak (ca. May 2020), Davey practices 133 Archer Street in North Adelaide, South, Australia.
