Solicitor Sydney Maidment of South Australia; cheating loser

The Law Society presented Sydney Gordon Maidment with a law license in 1963 after he graduated from Dalhousie University School of Law.

The Queensland Civil and Administrative found Sid guilty of the following misconduct.

• Grossly and inappropriately overcharged his client, in circumstances where he knew or ought to have known that his costs agreement was invalid
• Engaged in unsatisfactory Professional Conduct
• Charged more than Supreme Court Scale
• Charged non-legal office expenses as legal costs

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Queensland Bar punished Sid by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand and imposed a fine of $5,000.00.
