Attorney Sterling Weaver Sr. of Portsmouth, VA; ethical troll

The State of Virginia provided Sterling Harrisbe Weaver Sr. with a law license in 1978 after he graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law.

The Virginia State Bar Disciplinary found Sterling guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Engaged in a conflict of interest
  • Disclosed confidential client information
  • Admonishment
  • Improperly disbursed funds or used property of a client or third party with a valid lien or assignment without their consent
  • Disbursed unearned fees to himself prior to earning same
  • Commingled unearned client fees with personal funds
  • Failed to maintain separate trust account to deposit unearned client fees

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Virginia Bar Disciplinary Board punished Sterling by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. April 2020), Sterling practices with Weaver Law Practice PLLC at 615 Dinwiddie Street in Portsmouth, Virginia.
