Attorney Larry Mackey of Indianapolis; ethical ogre

The state of Indiana presented Larry A. Mackey with a law license in `976 after he graduated from Indiana University School of Law.

Indiana Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission has charged Larry with engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in a conflict of interest
  • Made false statement to ethics investigators (Screw you, said Larry!)
  • Engaged in an improper relationship with Sarah Hauke the ex-wife of former Fishers money-manager client Keenan Hauke who was convicted of securities fraud and is nearing the end of a 10-year prison sentence
  • Before withdrawing as Mr. Hake’s defense attorney, Larry paid for a trip for Sarah and her children to a resort in upstate Michigan
  • Larry also purchased a trip for himself and Sarah to travel to Siesta Key, Florida together
  • During their ongoing relationship, Larry and Sarah exchanged gifts and increasingly romantic emails
  • In one email that Larry sent to Sarah he said, “Listening to sweet music on my iPod and feeling warmed by your love.”
  • After withdrawing as Keenan’s defense lawyer, Larry and Sarah began looking for a house to share which they subsequently purchased
  • Subsequently, Larry and Sarah were engaged in several months later they were married

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Larry by the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Indiana Supreme Court

As one would suspect, Larry and his firm fail to mention the alleged misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website at www.btlaw.com. Apparently, they decided to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients so that they would not limit their future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. March 2020), Larry practices with Barnes & Thornburg at 11 South Meridian Street in Indianapolis, Indiana.
