Court Commissioner Kenneth Gorski of Marshfield, WI; ethical ogre
The state Wisconsin presented Kenneth W. Gorski with a law license in 1850 after he graduated from DePaul University School of Law.
The Wisconsin Judicial Commission found Kenny guilty of the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was employed as
-
Presided over small claims case when his recusal was required
-
Made inappropriate comments to a self-represented defendant in a small claims trial
-
Close personal relationship with attorney Timothy Gilbert for approximately 20 years and they socialized at least once a month during said period of time
-
Between 2015 and 2018 Kenny and Timmy went on four overseas vacation trips together
-
Kenny and Timmy have taken frequent overnight golfing trips together, both locally in Wisconsin and in other parts of the country
-
While presiding over pretrial involving a small claims matter, attorney Gilbert represented the plaintiff and the defendant, Mr. Meyer, a non-lawyer, represented himself
-
Between date of small claims pretrial and the actual trial, Kenny went on a week-long golfing trip to Ireland with Mr. Gilbert
-
During the small claims trial involving Mr. Meyer, Kenny lost his temper with Mr. Meyer on at least two occasions
-
Failed to treat those with whom he dealt in performing his judicial duties with patience, dignity, and courtesy
-
Failed to comply with the law in refusing to recuse himself from numerous cases involving his longtime friend, attorney Gilbert
As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Kenny by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
As we speak (ca. February 2020), Kenny continues to work as a part time Wood County Court Judicial Commissioner in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. In addition, Kenny practices law at 223 South Central Avenue in Marshfield, Wisconsin.
