Justice Josiah Coleman of Jackson, MS; bigoted loser
The State of Mississippi provided Josiah Dennis Coleman with a law license in 1999 after he graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Law.
In one matter, Justice Coleman was involved in a case involving Mark Nash who was convicted of possessing a cellphone while being held in jail on a misdemeanor charge. Judge Mark Duncan of Neshoba County unbelievably sentenced Mr. Nash to 12-years in prison for the cellphone violation. For more information on Judge Duncan’s conduct visit the URL at the end of this article.
As one would suspect, Mr. Nash is an African American and Judge Mark Duncan was a good Ol White Boy as is Justice Coleman.
In the opinion of the Supreme Court it stated in part:
“While obviously harsh [12-year sentence], it was not grossly disproportionate.”
Ruling that 12 years in prison for possession of a cellphone in jail isn’t “grossly disproportionate” doesn’t pass the involuntary laugh test. This argument flies in the face of common sense given the sentencing for being convicted of the following offenses.
Given Mississippi’s sad record of racial discrimination, I’m confident that had Mr. Nash been a good Ol White Boy that he would never have been sentenced to 12 years and at most would have received the minimum 3-year sentence, which would mean he would have spent about 18 months in jail.
As we speak (ca. February 2020), Josiah continues to sit as an Associate Justice of the Mississippi Supreme Court in Jackson, Mississippi.
