Massachusetts Attorney Workforce Infestation Rate

As we speak (ca. March 2012) there are approximately 44,000 licensed attorneys in Massachusetts. By comparison, there are only about 27,000 practicing physicians. Put simply, there are at least 17,000 more lawyers than doctors.

The infestation of lawyers in Massachusetts reminds one of the damage the folks in there suffer from in regards to the invasion of Asian Longhorned Beetles.

The citizens of Connecticut continue to suffer from an out of control birthrate among attorneys, which is among the highest in the developed world. Clearly, a reliable birth control device needs to be implemented to prevent unnecessary future births, right?

Let’s compare Massachusetts’ attorney workforce infestation rate verses several other states as set forth in the textbox below. FYI: workforce population = Private non-farm employment per the U.S. Census Bureau.
