Assistant Judge Allen Hodgdon of Guildhall, VT; ethical dwarf

The state of Vermont provided Allen Hodgdon with a law license in

The Vermont Judicial Conduct Board found Judge Hodgdon guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Judge Hodgdon violated Judicial Ethics when he ran for the elected position of Essex County Probate Judge while at the same time he was sitting as an Assistant Essex County Family Court Judge.

Subsequently he was elected as Probate judge and at that time retained his position as an assistant family court judge. Put simply, he held two judicial positions at the same time.

The Judicial Conduct Board found that Allen’s conduct constituted a conflict of interest and recommended that he be suspended from the bench for 30 days or until he resigned from one of the two judicial positions he was holding at the time.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Vermont Supreme Court punished Allen by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. January 2020), Allen continues to act as an Assistant Essex County judge in Guildhall, Vermont.
