Donald Trump: Today’s “Jimmy Swaggart Wannabee” Award Winner
The Magazine Christianity Today Editor in Chief Mark Galli published a scathing editorial on December 19, 2019 calling for the impeachment and removal of The Great Leader. The main points of Mr. Galli’s editorial are as follows.
Mr. Galli went on to implore evangelical voters to stop supporting The Great Leader by saying.
In response to Mr. Galli’s thoughtful and truthful comments, The Great Leader decided to play the dual parts of Rev. Jimmy Swaggart and Elmer Gantry.
FYI: Elmer Gantry was a novel written by Sinclair Lewis in 1926 depicting the religious goings on involving fundamentalist and evangelicals and attitudes of the public toward them. Rev. Gantry was attracted to the evangelical/fundamentalist movement by easy money and chasing women. After toying with evangelism, Gantry becomes a successful Methodist minister despite his hypocrisy and serial sexual indiscretions.
The Great Leader responded to Mr. Galli’s editorial as follows.
“A far left magazine, or very ‘progressive,’ as some would call it, which has been doing poorly and hasn’t been involved with the Billy Graham family for many years, Christianity Today, knows nothing about reading a perfect transcript of a routine phone call and would rather have a Radical Left nonbeliever, who wants to take your religion & your guns, than Donald Trump as your President."
The Great Leader continued with his rant by saying:
In a lame attempt at levity, The Great Leader’s statements that he wouldn’t be reading Christianity Today ever again would require one to believe that this poor man’s version of Elmer and Jimmy has actually read this religious magazine in the past, which is of course absurd.
The Great Leader as usual lies about his Democratic opponents as being “nonbelievers that want to take your religious and guns.” Maybe during the upcoming election, The Great Leader will clue us in on how one goes about taking one’s religion?
And finally, The Great Leader does a lousy imitation of Rev. Jimmy Swaggart and Rev. Elmer Gantry.
