Attorney Douglas Bulson Jr. of Columbus, OH; cheater, serial offender

The state of Ohio presented Douglas Whitney Bulson Jr. with a law license in 1973 after he graduated from Ohio State University School of Law.

The Disciplinary Counsel of the Ohio Supreme Court found Doug guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to comply with client information requests
• Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
• Failed to keep client informed of status of matter
• Failed to maintain office trust account records for mandatory 7-years
• Commingled client funds with personal funds
• Failed to promptly refund unearned fee upon termination (cheater)
• Failed to promptly deliver client property to client upon termination
• Failed to take reasonable steps to protect client interests upon termination
• Misconduct involved multiple offenses
• Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Doug!)
• Victims of Doug’s misconduct were vulnerable that resulted in harm being inflicted upon them

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Doug’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received three (3) monetary sanctions of $205.00, $330.00 and $640.00 for failure to pay his annual attorney registration fee in 2003, 2005 and 2007.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Doug by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 18-month suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Doug.
