Attorney Jason Atkins of Gloucester, VA; idiotic slacker

The state of Virginia presented Jason Alexander Atkins with a law license in 2004 after he graduated from the University of Richmond School of Law.

The Virginia State Bar Disciplinary found Jason guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to acquaint himself with the duties of appellate counsel for an indigent defendant
• Failed to monitor status of client’s appeal
• After learning client’s appeal dismissed, failed to take action to preserve the appellate rights of his client
• Failed to provide competent representation (idiot)
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to communicate with client

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Virginia Bar Disciplinary Board punished Jason by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand. 

As we speak (ca. February 2020), Jason practices with The Law Office of Steven Barnette PC in Gloucester, Virginia.
