The state of Tennessee provided presented Duncan E. Ragsdale Jr. with a law license in 1975 after he graduated from the University of Memphis School of Law.

FYI: The University of Memphis Law School is ranked as the 155th best law school in the country out of 200 ABA (American Bar Association) accredited law schools.

The Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility Duncan guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to promptly explain the status of a toxic tort matter he handled on behalf of two clients against a local hospital
  • Failed to obtain expert testimony to support this clients’ claims
  • Failed to seek continuance to obtain expert affidavit on behalf of his clients
  • Filed order voluntarily dismissing client case without ever informing them he had so acted
  • Failed to explain effect of dismissal of their case to his clients
  • Gross negligence led to client loss of right to purse legitimate claims against local hospital

As one would suspect, this wasn’t first bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He was previously sanctioned for engaging in the same type of misconduct.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Duncan by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. February 2020) Duncan practices at 1415 Madison Avenue in Memphis, Tennessee.
