 he state of Georgia presented David Eugene Barrett with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from the University of Georgia.
Up until early March 2012, Dave sat as a Enotah Superior Court judge in Blairsville, which is about 100 miles north of Atlanta and 100 miles east of Chattanooga, Tennessee.
In February 2012, Dave was presiding over a sexual assault case. While the female victim was testifying on the stand, Dave pulled out his gun and offered it to her, telling her she might as well kill her lawyer.
Because Judicial Misfits in Georgia are held to a much lower standard of conduct then every one else, Dave has never been criminally charged or prosecuted for illegally drawing his gun.
As we speak (ca. March 2012) Dave has yet to be disciplined by any agency in Georgia for his misconduct. Put simply, he is free to practice his brand of law as he sees fit.
