Solicitor Paul Yau of Hong Kong; ethical gnome

The Law Society of Hong Kong presented Paul Yau with a law license in 2000 after he graduated from the University of Hong Kong School of Law.

The Law Society Disciplinary Counsel found Paulie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to honor undertaking to deliver certain documents within 21 days
  • Failed to honor undertakings in respect of six different conveyancing transactions over the course of a year
  • Breaches of undertakings compromised or impaired a proper standard of work

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Board punished Paulie by gifting him with a complimentary restriction on his practice for one year, a fine of HK$350,000.00 ($38,328.00 US) and investigative costs of HK$224,000.00 ($28,619.00).

As we speak (ca. August 2019), Paulie practices with Tam Pun & Yipp at 55 Connaught Road West, Sheung Wan, Hong, Kong.
