Solicitor Tse Wai Chun of Hong Kong; ethical elf

The Law Society of Hong Kong presented Tse Wai Chun with a law license in 1992 after he graduated from the University of Hong Kong School of Law. He also received a license to practice law in England and Wales in 1997, New South Wales in 1984 and Singapore in 1995.

The Law Society Disciplinary Counsel found Tse Wai Chun guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Distributed circular announcing a rally outside disciplinary office to protest alleged unjust and unfair conduct of the Law Society
  • Circular invited solicitors to attending disciplinary hearing despite tribunal’s prior rulings that the hearings were to be held in camera (in chambers)
  • While in camera hearing was held, Tse demonstrated in the street wearing no clothes other than his swimming trunks
  • Conducted himself in manner bring legal profession into disrepute

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Board punished Tse Wai Chun by gifting him with a complimentary censure and a fine of HK$130,000.00 ($19,162.00 US).

As we speak (ca. July 2020), Tse Wai Chun practices with Paul W. Tse at 489 Hennessy Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong.
