Solicitor Li Mang Wah of Hong Kong; ethical Troll

The Law Society of Hong Kong presented Li Mang Wah with a law license in 1971 after he graduated from the University of Hong Kong School of Law.

The Law Society Disciplinary Counsel found Li Mang Wah guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Improperly executed four checks totaling $2,030,000.00 to a third party
  • There were other improper payments in and out involving large sums of money relating to a 2nd file, all of which were authorized by Li Mang Wah
  • Failed to act in the best interest of his client
  • Compromised reputation of the legal profession
  • Failed to act with a proper standard of work
  • Failed to deliver bills of costs to client in timely manner

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Board punished Li Mang Wah by gifting him with a complimentary censure and a fine of HK$635,000.00 ($81,123.00 US).

As we speak (ca. February 2020), Li Mang Wah practices with Lai K.M. & Li at 88 Queens Road Central in Hong Kong.
