Attorney Ryan Melcher of Jackson, TN; lying loser

The state of Tennessee presented Ryan Kenneth Melcher with a law license in 2012 after he graduated from Wayne State University School of Law.

The Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility found Ryan guilty of the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was employed as an Assistant Federal Public Defender in the appellate division of the Denver, Colorado Office of the Federal Public Defender.

  • Knowingly made a false statement of fact or law to a tribunal
  • Filed a motion for extension of time and including language that he needed additional time to prepare for oral argument in United States v. Ivory when he knew there was no oral argument pending in the Ivory matter
  • Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Ryan by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. February 2020), Ryan practices with the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee at 111 South Highland Avenue in Jackson, Tennessee.
