Former Judge Katherine Cabaniss of Houston, TX; idiotic loser

The state of Texas provided Katherine A. Cabaniss with a law license in 1992 after she graduated from Pepperdine University School of Law.

FYI: Former Gov. Rick Perry was duped into appointing Kathy as a District Court judge in 2013. Kathy didn’t receive the appointment because she was the most qualified attorney in the greater Houston area. She received it because she had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

The Texas Commission on Judicial Conduct found Kathy guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to comply with the law re: bail bond practices
• Failed to maintain competence in the law (idiot)
• Violated hearing officers’ authority under Texas law
• Instructions on bail bond counted as willful and persistent conduct, which wasn’t consistent with Kathy’s duties as a judge
• Conduct cast public discredit on the judiciary
• Failed to give defendants time to consult with lawyers regarding bail
• Failed to grant bail within 24 hours of arrest, when allowed by law

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Kathy by gifting her with a complimentary public reprimand.
