Attorney Wilfred Willier of Alberta, CAN; idiotic cheater

The Law Society of Alberta presented Wilfred L. Willier with a law license in 1994 after he graduated from the University of Calgary School of Law.

The Alberta Law Society Disciplinary Counsel found Willy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to provide competent legal services (idiot)
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Charged legal fees to his client that were not fair or reasonable (cheater)
• Signed a declaration certifying he had reviewed the IAP Application with his client, M.D., when he had not done so
• Commenced litigation on behalf of individuals, and took steps in that litigation without those individuals' instructions to do so
• Failed to treat the Court with courtesy and respect
• Disclosed a confidential document to opposing counsel without the client’s consent
• Improperly billed his client after being instructed to cease work on the file
• Failed to provide the client’s file to his client upon request
• Initiated an action in the names of parties from whom he did not receive instructions or consent
• Failed to take steps to prosecute the litigation thereby exposing the plaintiffs to cost consequences
• Improperly handled trust funds in breach of the accounting rules
• Failed to provide a proper accounting upon request by his client

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Board punished Willy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand and assessed costs of $1,500.00.

As one would suspect, Brook fails to mention the alleged misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website at www.willerandco.com. Apparenlty, Willy and his firm decided to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients for fear it would limit his future victim pool.
