Attorney Mark Bogard of Melville, NY; ethical troll

The state of New York presented Mark D. Bogard with a law license in 2009 after he graduated from Syracuse University School of Law.

The Judicial Department Committee on Professional Standards found Mark guilty of the following misconduct.

• Engaged in gross neglect
• Neglectful conduct led to foreclosure on client’s home at sheriff’s sale
• Took no action until day before sheriff’s sale on client home and claimed that he was told by sheriff’s office only the homeowners could apply for an adjournment of the sale and not the homeowner’s attorney
• Sheriff’s Office testified that a homeowner's attorney could request an adjournment of a sale and that two-week adjournments were routinely granted
• Failed to respond to client calls regarding sheriff’s sale of their home
• Failed to take reasonable steps to stop Sheriff’s sale of client home

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Professional Standards Committee punished Mark by gifting him with a complimentary censure.  

As we speak (ca. September 2019), Mark practices with the Weber Law Group LLP at 290 Broadhollow Road in Syracuse, New York.
