Attorney Michael Aviles of New York City; ethical gnome

The state of New York presented Michael John Aviles with a law license in 1999 after he graduated from the Brooklyn School of Law.

The Judicial Department Committee on Professional Standards found Mikey guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to promptly disclose loss of client’s iPhone being sought in discovery by opposing counsel
• Engaged in illegal practice of law in Texas bankruptcy court

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Professional Standards Committee punished Mikey by gifting him with a complimentary censure.  

As we speak (ca. October 2019), Mikey practices with Michael J. Aviles & Associates LLC at 145 Hudson Street in New York, New York.
