Judge James Taylor of Rogersville, TN; thief, Elmer Gantry Wannabee

The state of Tennessee presented James Taylor with a law license in 1997 after he graduated from Mercer University School of Law.

In 2006, Jimmy duped the voters in Hawkins County into electing him as the Judge of the Juvenile Court. In 2011 the Hawkins County Commissioners were duped into appointing Jimmy as a judge on the General Sessions Court of Hawkins County.

The Tennessee Court of the Judiciary recently filed an ethics complaint against Jimmy for the following misconduct, some of which is being investigated by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
  • Stole $9,000 from a former client
  • Billed the state for services he never performed
  • Pocketed money raised to pay for a public “Citizen’s Heritage Display”
Jimmy is also being sued by former clients for stealing their money and for sexual harassment.

When Jimmy was summoned to testify before the Judicial Commission, he invoked his 5th Amendment right against self-incrimination just like the late Carlos Marcello (Godfather of New Orleans) did when summoned by Congress.

Jimmy the Religious Hypocrite

Just like the fictional Elmer Gantry, Jimmy also engages in selling snake oil. On his self-serving website at www.judgejamestaylor.com, Jimmy has the chutzpah to say, “Taylor’s life and interests revolve around his church and family. His grandparents had a powerful and spiritual influence on his life, and Taylor’s life has been largely guided by Papa Best’s advice: God has given each of us a special talent and gift; prayerfully finds yours, and then serve God with it.”

Do y’all think that Jimmy’s grandparents are really proud of Jimmy’s talents for stealing and engaging in sexual harrassment?

Hopefully, the Judicial Commission bounces Jimmy off the bench. Moreover, the Supreme Court should permannetly disbar Jimmy.

Lastly, if Jimmy is criminally convicted, I would hope that that the sentencing judge would order that he be assigned to Cell No. 151 along with Clarice (real name is Clarence) at the Northwest Correctional Complex in Tiptonville, TN.

As we speak (ca. March 2012) Jimmy the Louse continues to sit on the bench in Hawkins County.
