The Law Society of Hong Kong presented Cecil Chi Ho Kwong with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from the University of Hong Kong School of Law. Arun also received a law license to practice in England and Wales in 1971, Australia in 1983, India in 1984, Brunei in 1986, New South Wales in 1990 and Singapore in 1992.

The Law Society Disciplinary Counsel found Cecil guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to keep properly written up books and accounts of the Firm
  • Failed to deposit the client’s money into the Firm’s client account without delay
  • Failed to remedy promptly upon discovery his breach of Solicitor’s Practice Rules
  • Failed to remedy promptly upon discovery of breaches of Solicitor’s Practice Rules
  • Compromised a proper standard of work by repeatedly failing to comply with the applicable rules

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Board punished Cecil by gifting him with a complimentary censure and a fine of HK$12,000.00 ($978,799.50 US).

As we speak (ca. October 2019), Cecil practices with Kwok Yih & Chan at 9 Queen’s Road Central in Hong, Kong.
