Barrister/Solicitor Peter Morahan of New Zealand; ethical troll

The Law Society of New Zealand presented Peter James Morahan with a law license in 1973 after he graduated from the University of Auckland Law School. 

The New Zealand Lawyers and Conveyancers Disciplinary Tribunal found Pete guilty of the following misconduct.

• Breached professional duties to a woman over property dealings
• Failed to provide competent representation [idiot]
• Engaged in negligent conduct
• Provided information to Family Court judge he knew, or should have known was false or misleading
• Failed to ensure client received independent advice on earlier transactions involving a trust in her name and her husband’s

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the patron saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Zealand Lawyers and Conveyancers Disciplinary Tribunal punished Pete by gifting him with a complimentary 4-month suspension of his law license and ordered to pay investigative costs of $37,171.63.
