Solicitor Phyllis Kwong of Hong Kong; ethical goblin

The Law Society of Hong Kong presented Phyllis Ka Yin Kwong with a law license in 1988 after she graduated from the University of Hong Kong School of Law.

The Law Society Disciplinary Counsel found Phyllis guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Entered into several retainer agreements with companies in respect to court proceedings, in circumstances where the Third Retainer Agreement amounted in part to a contingency fee arrangement for Phyllis acting in contentious proceedings

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Board punished Phyllis by gifting her with a complimentary censure and assessed and a fine of HK6,000 ($766.00 US).

As we speak (ca. October 2019), Phyllis practices with Yip J. Chan So & Partners at 10 Ice House Street in Hong, Kong.
