Judge Michael Price of Spokane, WA; pompous loser

The State of Washington presented Michael Patrick Price with a law license in 1990 after he graduated from Gonzaga University School of Law.

In one matter, Mikey sued his neighbors for allegedly allowing their cat to urinate on Mikey’s back porch. Mikey whined that his neighbors’ cat was using his back porch as a litter box.

The lawsuit was subsequently settled with Mikey’s dismissal of it with prejudice the likely outcome.

In an overt display of arrogance, Mikey was able to get one of his fellow judicial comrades to order that the court file in his cat case be sealed. In a lame attempt at levity, Mikey said he had the file sealed to protect his identity and his home address.

As to Mikey’s home address, that wouldn’t be difficult to discover since he would be required to list it on his notice to the Board of Elections to be reelected. His address would also likely be listed on his annual financial disclosure statement, which is a public record.

Put simply, Mikey was able to abuse his judicial position to seal a record that would never have been sealed had it involved any other Spokane County government employee and/or any other citizen of the County.

And lastly, University of California at Los Angeles law professor Eugene Volokh has filed a motion to unseal the case. Professor Volokh made the following statement to the Spokesman-Review.

• “I’m not a lawyer in Washington, but because I’m intervening on my own behalf, I believe I’m entitled to do that.” 
• “Everybody has an individual right to get access to court files.”

As we speak (ca. July 2019) Mikey continues to sit as a Spokane County Superior Court judge in Spokane, Washington.
