Attorney Jana Effertz of Owatonna, MN; ethical goblin

The state of Minnesota presented Jana Harvieux Effertz with a law license in 2002 after she graduated from Hamline University School of Law.

The Office of Lawyer Regulation found Jana guilty of the following misconduct.

• Notarized 17 signatures on affidavits in child custody proceeding, which signatures Jana had never actually witnessed
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Minnesota Supreme Court punished Jana by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.
