Attorney Mark Olson of Burnsville, MN; imbecile, repeat offender

 

The state of Minnesota presented Mark A. Olson with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from Hamline University School of Law.

 

The Office of Lawyer Regulation found Mark guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Mark’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • On at least four occasions altered expiration date on malpractice insurance contract to falsely indicate he was currently insured

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Minnesota Supreme Court punished Mark by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

 

Mark’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to serve third-part subpoena on opposing counsel
  • Failed to accurately quote applicable procedural rule in court filing (imbecile)
  • Failed to promptly dismiss an appeal once underlying case was settled
  • Failed to obtain waiver of homestead exemption before claiming a security interest in the homestead of a marital dissolution client
  • Misrepresented [lied]his hourly fee in request for payment of attorney fees (thief)
  • Failed to report an assignment of client’s interest in her husband’s retirement assets
  • Failed to obey an order of the court of appeals
  • Failed to timely order transcript in child custody case given priority for scheduling on appeal
  • Failed to timely file memorandum as ordered by court of appeals resulting in dismissal of a portion of his client’s appeal
  • Failed to timely file documents on behalf of the personal representative of an estate
  • Failed to administer an oath to the deponent in a deposition
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Minnesota Supreme Court punished Mark by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

 

As we speak (ca. September 2019), Mark practices with Jana H. Effertz Law Office PA at 2605 Cliff Road East in Burnsville, Minnesota.
