Attorney James Wendt of Anchorage; ethical gnome

The state of Alaska presented James Alan Wendt with a law license in 1973 after he graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Jimmy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Neglected a client matter
  • Violated a court order in a civil case
  • Repeatedly missed court-imposed deadlines re: witness list
  • Failed to respond to opposing counsel’s motion to exclude expert witnesses at medical malpractice trial
  • Trial court found Jimmy’s neglect inexcusable and willful and sanctioned him $13,720, which represented the actual fees incurred by the defendant in the malpractice case

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Alaska Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As one would suspect, Phil’s self-serving website at www.weidnerjustice.com makes no mention of his misconduct as set forth above. Apparently, his firm decided to conceal this highly relevant information from prospective clients so as to not limit its future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. September 2019), Jimmy practices at 425 G Street in Anchorage, Alaska.
