Attorney William Artus of Anchorage; idiot, repeat offender

The state of Alaska presented William D. Artus with a law license in 1974 after he graduated from Creighton University School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Billy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to prosecute lawsuit arising from clients' purchase of a home that flooded due to an allegedly defective foundation
  • After client authorization authorized to dismiss their suit without prejudice, Billy signed a stipulation for dismissal with prejudice, meaning they were forever barred from pursing the matter in the future
  • Failed to reply to numerous requests to return client file upon termination
  • Failed to provide competent representation [idiot]
  • Failed to act with due diligence [slacker]
  • Failed to communicate with clients

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Billy’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary reprimand for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Alaska Supreme Court punished Billy by gifting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. June 2019), Billy practices at 629 L Street in Anchorage, Alaska.
