Attorney Christopher Acuna of Chicago; ethical goblin

The state of Illinois presented Christopher James Acuna with a law license in 2014 after he graduated from Northern Illinois University School of Law.

The Disciplinary Commission found Chris guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, business terminated his employment and severed his access to an internal database. About one month after being terminated, and while he was contemplating pursuing a claim against his former employer, he accessed the firm’s database by fraudulently using another employee’s log-in information to obtain information about commissions he believed that he was owed.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Chris by gifting him with a complimentary 45-day suspension of his law license, effective April 9, 2019.

As one would suspect, Chris does not mention the misconduct on his self-serving website at www.acunalawoffices.com. Apparently, Chris chose to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients to not limit his future victim pool.

As we speak (May 2019), Chris will resume his practice with the Law Offices of Christopher Acuna Ltd at 1 North state Street in Chicago, Illinois on or about May 13, 2019.
