Attorney Samuel Bonafede of Marion, NY; ethical troll

The state of New York presented Samuel James Bonafede with a law license in 1973 after he graduated from the Boston College School of Law.

The Judicial Department Committee on Professional Standards found Sammy guilty of the following misconduct.

• Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice law
• Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation
• Charged or collecting fee in domestic relations matter without written retainer agreement
• Failed to provide prospective client in domestic relations matter with statement of client’s rights and responsibilities

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Professional Standards Committee punished Sammy by gifting him with a complimentary censure.  

As we speak (ca. September 2019), Sammy practices in Marion, New York.
