Attorney Juan Banez Jr. of Philippines; greedy loser

The Philippine Supreme Court provided Juan B. Banez Jr. with a law license in 1983 after he graduated from the University of the Philippines School of Law.

The Integrated Bar of the Philippines found Juan guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Improperly lent money to a client
  • Entered into a contract for legal services that was is in the nature of a champertous contract, whereby Juan undertook to pay the expenses of the proceedings to enforce the client’s rights in exchange for some bargain to have a part of the thing in dispute
  • Under the terms of the contract, his clients were obligated to pay him 50% of any recovery

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Republic of the Philippines Supreme Court punished Juan by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. April 2019), Juan practices in Bacacay, Albay, Philippines
