Today’s “Rodney Dangerfield” Award Winner
At a Lincoln Day Dinner held by the Palm Beach County Republican Party on Jan 27, Hermy said, “I hereby officially and enthusiastically endorse Newt Gingrich for president of the United States.” In a lame effort to cement his status as an aspiring standup comedian, Hermy went on to say he supported Newt because “I know that Speaker Gingrich is a hypocrite, I’m sorry I mean patriot.”
Isn’t it heartening for the Republicans to know that they now have one serial philanderer “enthusiastically” supporting another serial philanderer? Is that like cool or what?
This laughable endorsement would be akin to the late Ugandan dictator Idi Amin (aka, the Butcher of Uganda) enthusiastically endorsing Jeffrey Dahmer as Gourmet Cook of the Year. Hear tell that Jeff’s rump roast recipe is out of the world!
Given the state of the Republican primary, the nomination may well be brokered at the convention in Tampa Bay. This is especially true since about 70% of conservative Republicans (Family Values Evangelicals) have no particular use for Mitt Romney.
If the nomination is brokered and the Family Values folks are really looking for someone as an alternative to serial two-timer Gingrich, they might want to give Larry King (only married 8 times) the nod.
Congrats Hermy; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of America’s most unaccomplished Standup Comedians; you are far too humble.
